Trip home from camp and then to the ER

We had a wonderful camping trip as you saw in the pics. I could have stayed a few more days, but it was time to go home on Sunday.

After I made everyone breakfast, cleaned up and got everything packed, we were off. If only the way home was as wonderful.

First off, after about ten minites into our drive home, I realized I forgot my phone back at camp, so we had to go back and get it. The good thing about my forgetfulness was that there was a fox eating our left overs we sat out before we left. It's not the greatest pic, since it's zoomed in from our car, but it's in between the two trees.

We decided to go out to eat at Hoss's, which was really nice, but quickly after Alaina wasn't feeling too good. She asked to go to the bathroom often, which scared me, but I thought maybe it was the long trip home and she was trying to find reasons to move around.

After dinner, we stopped at Living Treasures and Alaina needed to go to the bathroom once again. This time she started screaming in pain and asked to get a bath. RED FLAG!

She was having the same UTI symptoms she had a couple months ago. :( I felt so bad for her and ended up leaving before we bought tickets. I called the dr right away and gave her some tylenol for pain.

The dr advised me to take her to the ER, since it was sunday and they would be able to get a urine specimen and treat her right away. My baby girl would shake and scream each time she had to go, which was often. It was just horrible!

Luckily, the ER had the nicest play area for kids, so that helped distract her mind from the pain for awhile. By this time the Tylenol was kicking in, because she was giggling away until she had to go to the bathroom.

The ER dr said that it will take a couple days to get the culture results, but she does have a UTI and treated her with antibiotics. He said that this needs to be followed up by her dr. and that further testing by a urologist is needed now that she's had more than one already.

Alaina may have problems with her ureters or kidneys, so please keep her in your prayers. Thank you so much.

The dr called me this morning and told me that he would talk to me more about getting images of her kidneys and ureters soon and we may have to get more testing at Chilrens also.

Alaina is feeling a lil better today. She's not screaming as often, but is still complaining of burning. I just hope everything comes back normal and that she doesn't have anything seriously wrong. A mom's job can be so hard at times like these. God Bless Mothers!

My baby's first time at the ER and hopefully last time. 6/27/10

Summer camp trip 2010- Day 2

Family trip to the Kinzua Bridge 6/26/10

On day two of our camp trip, Kelly and I made breakfast for everyone. Justin arrived shortly after, which was awesome. Alaina was talking away to him. I think it's because she's seeing him more. It's so cute hearing her call him "Uncle Justin".

Once we were all dressed and ready, we drove up to Kinzua Bridge, or shall I say what's left of it. The 329-acre Kinzua Bridge State Park is in McKean County and features remnants of the 2,053-foot railroad bridge (viaduct) that was a National Engineering Landmark. A tornado has knocked down much of the bridge.

Leaving

We really enjoyed ourselves learning about the history of it and what they plan on doing in the near future to utilize what is left of the Kinzua Bridge.

Afterwards we went for icecream. That ice creams store has the hugest cones! I wish I knew a small was as big as a large or I would have gotten a baby size. Here are some pics of our small ice creams. Alaina and Ethan shared one lol.

When we got back to the camp we cooked out, made smores, did fireworks, took more quad rides, placed left overs out, hoping to catch a bear or other wildlife on my dad's camera, and had some good laughs watching SNL. It was another great day up camp.

Summer camp trip 2010- Day 1

Ethan and Alaina loving it 6/25/10

This weekend we went to our family camp up north. The camp is very rustic. No running water or an indoor potty, but we love it that way! We find it fun roughing it out.

It takes about almost three hours to get there from my house, so we had to take a few rest stops for the girls. Surprisingly, the they slept most of the way. I thought they would fuss or get bored, but that wasn't the case, which was a great start to our camp trip.

We were greeted by Ethan storming out of the camp with the biggest smile on his face. It wasn't long before he started asking Uncle Matt when he will get a ride on the quad. Shortly after we unpacked he got his wish. :)

Sadly, Matt soon realized that his quad tire was low on air, so Matt and I took a trip up to the nearest town to get one along with a few other things, which included two 16 oz Delmonico steaks for my dad and him. My sis and I prefer chicken ;)

We stopped at this one place that sold fruits, veggies and meats. Well Matt can't say no to steak and said that he felt a bond with the butcher, so he bought those $25 steaks lol! It's all about the bond with your butcher, so he says haha.

I guess they were worth it, because my dad couldn't stop raving about how good his was. Matt was in the zone. He doesn't talk when he's at one with his steak. ;)

After dinner we went out for ice cream down the road. It's tradition that we go at least once every camp trip. We ended up going every day lol!

We ended the first night up camp taking quad rides, sitting by the fire and watching movies. Other than poor Alaina burning her lil hand on the hot part of Matt's quad, it was a wonderful first day of our camp trip.
