Peanut Free Picnics?

Last Wednesday was beautiful! I opened the windows, took the girls to Soergels to get a few things and see the farm animals, packed lunch and went to the park with the girls for a picnic, and made pulled pork and macaroni salad for dinner. It felt just like Spring!

Other than Bella breaking out in hives the day couldn't be any nicer. Then the following day she broke out again and what do you know, it was after eating peanut butter and jelly again! I called the doctor and he was to get back to me the following morning when he was in, but it happened again after dinner. This time she was crying and pointing in her mouth.

Without hesitation, Matt rushed her to the ER to make sure her throat wasn't closing. I know that feeling all too well, and it's SCARY! I couldn't stop getting that image of her pointing in her mouth and it would bring me to tears all over again. It's a horrible feeling when you can't be there for your child.

They gave her two big shots in the leg :(. The nurse really didn't want to, but the doctor said that she would most likely spit out the other medicine, so she did. It quickly took the hives away and she was back to her silly self again. They kept her there until 1:30am just to keep an eye on her. I just wanted to hold my baby.

Matt said that she was making the nurses laugh and jumping on the bed, which made me feel much better knowing that she was enjoying herself. Bella was given orders to follow up with her pcp the following morning and to stay away from peanuts.

Bella did break out again Friday evening, but the doctor said that they would come and go, and unless she was having trouble breathing to continue with the Benadryl. She goes to see the allergist Tuesday for scratch testing. Hopefully, they can tell me something. I sure hope it's not a peanut allergy or anything else serious. Please keep her in your prayers. Thank you so much.
May be the last time she can eat that again, unless it's peanut free :(

 Love them so much!
