Another Crazy Beautiful Weekend

Checking out the same robin that we later found out was our tenant

I have a lot of catching up to do, but before I get too far behind I thought I'd write about our weekend. It was a beautiful day on Saturday! After ALLLLLLLL the rain we've been having, I almost forgot what it was like to have the sun shining down on my shoulders. It felt oh so good!

Poor Matt had to work until 4pm, but the girls and I made sure to enjoy the rainless day. We quickly ate breakfast and out we went. Even though our sandal wearing feet were filled with wet grass, we had so much fun playing on the playset, taking a walk, having a picnic and coloring outside.

When going up to go down the slide, Alaina spotted a couple surprises in her playset.

and in the top corner! A pleasant surprise, but not so sure it's a good idea to go down the slide for awhile.

Before I layed Bella down for her nap, I tried putting her on the "big girl potty", since she's been taking off her diaper now. I can't beleive this! Before long I will have two potty trained cupcakes in this house. Really, where does the time go? No luck this time or so I think. Alaina was coaching her the whole time, which made it hard to hear. :) Today marks our journey though. Exactly 20 months old.

She's going to get me back for this lol!

5/21/11 Bella started trying out the big girl potty.

After Matt got home we headed up to my best friend's place for her birthday cookout. The girls loved all the toys Ashley's mom brought for them to play with, including a water table. Thank God I brought extra clothes lol! We enjoyed the good people, food and even a bonfire. Happy Birthday Ashley!!! We love you!

Bentley wanted to go swimming lol!

P.S. guess what? We are still alive! That's what you get for trying to play God! I feel bad for all of those people who gave up everything for this day though. Imagine how they feel right now. :/ Just remember,

Matthew 24:36 (HCSB) Now concerning that day and hour no one knows—neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son—except the Father only.

Matthew 24:50 (ESV) the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know

Matthew 25:13 (HCSB) Therefore be alert, because you don’t know either the day or the hour.

Now that that's said and done, on Sunday, Matt wanted to finally get some more work done before it was time for the dumpster to be picked up. Thankfully this place allows you to have it for two weeks or we wouldn't be able to do anything with all this rain we've been dealing with. I'm so sick of rain!

Anyways, so Alaina and I just went to church this time. It was a great sermon and we even got to meet Bishop Kusserow. You can feel his holiness when you're around him. It was an honor to be in his presence. When the childs sermon was done she went to the Sunday school room with all of her lil friends. There's two Alainas and a Malana in that class lol!

5/22/11

I can't beleive my little princess will be starting preschool in a lil over three months!

After church we went across the street to our library to pick up some books and dvds. It's been almost a year since I took Alaina. We used to go all the time when I watched Jason and Ian, but thanks to my cousins they reminded me that theres also the library on these rainy days. Plus Ashley's mom told me about this book that I need to read. It was out this time, but they are having it sent from another library for me, but I did end up borrowing another book along the same lines.

That's a real tree!

Alaina was even old enough to get her own library card! She felt like a big girl when they handed it to her. They have this neat way to check out your own books/dvds, so I allowed Alaina to scan the barcodes herself under her name and then she got to hold her return receipt. That smile of accomplishment was priceless! :)

It's nice that Alaina is old enough to appreciate it now and didn't run all around the place like last year, so I'm looking forward to our future visits. They have the cutest child area and Dewey the hamster is still there! Thanks Stef for the great idea!

On our way home we stopped to get some lemons and pinapple to make us some fresh pinapple lemonade. I came up with it the other day and thought I'd give it a try and it was delicious!!! It didn't last long, so I'm sure that we will be making some more tomorrow.

For dinner we went to Pizza Hut, Alaina's request. We had a nice Sunday routine going on for awhile, where we would go to church, Ollies to buy some books and what not, then to Texas Road House or Pizza Hut for dinner.

Well, Alaina must have missed it, because after church she asked if we were going to Pizza Hut. I told her it was up to daddy and then insisted on calling him to ask. Who can say no to that adorable voice? :) It turned out that we were the only people in there. It was kinda odd, but very nice at the same time. Poor Bella had no one to say "hi" or "bye bye" to, but it was awesome to have the whole place to ourselves.

We ended our Sunday relaxing on the couch and watching tv. Pretty nice weekend if you ask me. :) I hope you all had the same <3 God Bless!
