Happy Veterans Day!

Today the girls and I went to put a flag on Grandpap Daily's grave. He served in the Vietnam War. It was a special moment since Alaina is starting to be more aware of whats going on and I tried to explain to her what and why we were doing this.

I don't want to scare her, so I just told her we come here to remember your grandpap, because he was a wonderful person and loved you very much. She said, "Ohhhh, where is grandpap?" I then told her that he was in heaven looking down on her and she replied with another, "Ohhhh." One day I will explain it better to her, but for now this will have to do.

We said hello and told him that we missed him very much. Then we stuck the flag in and Alaina placed one of the patriotic rice crispi treats we made last night beside the flag for her grandpap. She got me teary eyed, when she said, "Here you go grandpap, they have sparkles on them." :') Bella kept trying to chase those geese up on the hill. :) She just loves those animals. I'm sure one of them got a nice tasty treat too! :)

It breaks my heart that my father in law can't be here today. I know he's in a better place, but with everything that's going on, I know he'd make things better. Matt misses his dad sooo much. Whether it's during a game, trying to fix something, good news he wants to share or just something he needs a guy to talk about and knowing he don't have his best friend to turn to, just makes me want to cry.

John was the sweetest person and made me feel like part of the family. He also loved kids and I know how much he'd love to see all of his grandkids grow up. Times like these you just have to ask Why? I know God has the answers and one day we will know them, but still, I can't help to wonder. :/

On a happier note, I would like to honor all of those veterans who have served and is serving our country. Without you we wouldn't have the freedom we have today. There are many veterans in our family that I'm proud of! Thank you guys! God Bless You All!
