We will miss you Bambi!

Our girl Bambi :)

Sunday was full of adventures. First we all got up early to take Bambi to her new home. Yes that is what I said, HER! Matt thought when he held her he felt a boy part, but when he looked again he realized that was her umbilical cord. LOL Bambi is actually a girl. :)

We drove her to Export, PA, which is about 45 min away. It's a beautiful place on 98 acres of posted land. The women told Matt that Bambi looked great considering how bad she was a couple days ago and that Matt saved her life. Thanks to Matt, Bambi will most likely have a bright future ahead.

The caregiver also had alpacas, chickens and even a donkey lol! That donkey was a cranky lil guy. When we pulled in he was chasing the alpacas and trying to bite thier bums. Alaina got bit by a rooster who was gaurding his ladies. She wasn't too happy and replied, "No biting chicken little!" haha :)

I'm so proud of my hubby. He's the greatest person I know and who knows if that fawn would have lived if she went anywhere else. I truly believe God sent her to us, because he knows our love for animals and that Matt would know what to do.

It was heartbreaking watching her go, but the caretaker told us we can call her anytime to check up on her. We felt at ease leaving Bambi there. Plus she had 5 other fawn friends to play with.

We had to bring Bambi in at night. This is right before she had to go to her new home. 5/30/10

I feel so blessed we were given this experience and I'm glad my girls got to be a big part of it. Alaina had so much fun playing with Bambi and helping daddy feed her. Bella just watched in amazement and got to pet her. I doubt this will ever happen again, so we cherished every moment we had with Bambi. We miss her already.

I will write more about our day later. I wanted to dedicate this blog to our Bambi.

And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so.
