God Bless Bella Hope!!! March 20th 2010

You have come into the world so tiny, Yet with such great promise for the future. Before you were even born, God planned wonderful things for you. As you are baptised, May you feel His love And the love of those around you, And may you always follow in His way.

Today we welcome by the sacrament of Holy Baptism:
Name: BELLA HOPE DAILY
Born to: Ashley & Matt Daily
Sponsors: John Daily & Ashley King

Bella's Baptism was just beautiful. I have never had an event go that smooth before. The weather was nice and the birds were chirping. I couldn't have asked for a better first day of Spring to have Bella's Baptism on. Thank you Lord for answering my prayers. <3

Pastor Diehm told me that it's rare to see that many church goers on a Saturday. Then with all our friends and family made it even more special. He said there were about 80 people who joined us and he actually ran out of programs, so we shared :)

First we went to set up the hall for the reception. When that was done we went with the Godparents, Ashley King(My best friend)and John Daily(Matt's oldest brother) so the Pastor could explain what was going to happen. After that Ashley got to dress her Goddaughter. She did an awesome job and Bella just went with the flow. Ethan wanted to help to, so he held her hand the whole time :)

The church service had a nice message about the smell of Spring and how the Bible uses smell to get the message across. He told us a story about Mary's extravagant act of anointing Jesus' feet with costly perfume made of pure nard and wiped them with her hair. Jesus recognizes that her lavish gift is both an expression of love and an anticipation of his burial.

In spiritual terms, anointing with oil is a declaration of spiritual wealth. The anointing with oil is after the baptism/christening in the ceremony for this reason. I never knew what the oil was for, so I was happy to learn this. Then the Pastor told everyone to smell the sweet smelling oil on Bella's forehead after she gets Baptised, so at the reception you would see people going up to Matt who was holding Bella so they could smell her head lol. It was sweet though.

Bella didn't even cry when he poured the water over her head. It was so cute how she just listened to the Pastor speak then stared up at him while he Baptised her. It didn't faze her one bit lol. She's such a happy baby :)

Matt thought it was nice of the Pastor to invite all the children up front to listen in and he even included Alaina during the sermon. Alaina became shy and hid her face :)

We had plently of food, so I invited everyone to join us. I got to meet some new people and it was great to see all our friends and family come together for Bella. It means so much to us to have such great people in our lives. We love you all!

I'm a bit sad though, because I didn't explain well enough to my sister how to use the camcorder, so she ended up taping everything but the important parts lol! Well, at least my cousin's wife offered to take pics with her new Nikon, so I got some good pics. Thanks again and God Bless!

It was a perfect day for a baptism! Everything did go really well. I am going to have Grant put the pictures on a disc for you this week, and I'll get it to you!
